becoming a Catholic? Or would
like to understand more about the faith? Do you want to invite some one? Please
introduce yourself or inform Fr Mehall.
Planned visit to
Hospital;

are being admitted, then why not ask Fr Mehall prior to going for the anointing
of the sick. (All our local hospitals have RC Chaplains and can be summoned
through the Hospital staff and switchboard 24 / 7.

School News:
Catholic Secondary schools – Will soon invite application for admissions in 2009.
Catholic secondary schools ask for a Priests reference.
As I am obviously new and cannot know you personally, please
complete the parish information form. So I can share the information with Fr
Martin.
I will hold a series of open hours at the Presbytery for both parents
to attend.
Please wait until these dates are published even though you have
the school form.
Financial News: Following our finance meeting, I can inform you we are
still solvent. However, we have been given one year’s notice that the Hume
Centre rental contract will terminate in June 2009. In expectation that rents
are forthcoming up to and including this date, we hope to clear our outstanding
debt for the re-ordering of the sanctuary.
We like any household have on
going maintenance to the Church, Parish house and Hume centre and most importunately
the Mission of the Church
It appears our Sunday
offerings are not always sufficient to meet our monthly expenses this is
clearly the case when many parishioners leave on vacation for Christmas Easter
and Summer.
I look forward to consulting
with you in more detail on the end of year accounts in February. Thank you to
the support of the financial committee.
In the meantime I ask you to
continued your support and prayers
Can you think of some
fundraising initiatives?
Standing Orders: If any
parishioner is unclear whether their Standing Orders have been processed by
their bank, please contact Helen, the Parish Administrator, at the Parish Office: parsonsgreen@rcdow.org.uk
New applications welcome.
Help
needed at Holy Cross Parish
Can
you spare thirty minutes or so, once
a month after 11.30 Mass on Sunday to help count the Weekly offering.
You would be in a team of three or more
Are
you a trained Plumber/ Electrician/ Carpenter
or anyone with a skill who could offer one or two hour’s voluntary help when
needed in the Church for small jobs? Please
introduce yourself.
Church Cleaning: ‘Thank you’ to our dedicated team of Church
cleaners. Do we have any new volunteers? At present approximately six dedicated
people help monthly we can clean more frequently with help? With a significant
number it could be completed in less time and on a Rota. Please share the load.
